Kyle Turley (born September 24, 1975) is a former American football offensive tackle who played in the National Football League (NFL) for eight seasons. He was born in Provo, Utah and attended California State University, San Diego (commonly known as San Diego State University), where he played college football for the San Diego State Aztecs.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Kyle Turley was born in Provo, Utah, and grew up in Southern California. He attended Valley View High School in Moreno Valley, California, where he excelled in both football and wrestling. After high school, Turley attended San Diego State University, where he played for the Aztecs from 1994 to 1997. During his college career, he was recognized as a standout offensive lineman and earned several accolades.

Professional Career[edit | edit source]

New Orleans Saints[edit | edit source]

Turley was selected by the New Orleans Saints with the seventh overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft. He quickly became known for his aggressive playing style and versatility on the offensive line. Turley played for the Saints from 1998 to 2002, during which he was named to the Pro Bowl in 2000.

Kansas City Chiefs[edit | edit source]

In 2003, Turley was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs, where he continued to play at a high level. However, his time with the Chiefs was marred by injuries, and he was eventually released by the team.

St. Louis Rams[edit | edit source]

Turley signed with the St. Louis Rams in 2004, but his tenure with the team was also affected by injuries. He played for the Rams until 2006, after which he was released due to ongoing health issues.

Post-Football Career[edit | edit source]

After retiring from professional football, Turley became an advocate for player health and safety, particularly concerning chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) and other brain injuries associated with football. He has been vocal about the need for better medical care and support for former players.

Turley also pursued a career in music, forming a band called the Kyle Turley Band. The band has released several albums and performed at various venues across the country.

Kyle Turley is married and has children. He has been open about his struggles with mental health issues, which he attributes to his football career and the injuries he sustained.
