Lahore
Lahore is the capital city of the Punjab province in Pakistan. It is the second-largest city in the country and is considered to be one of Pakistan's most socially liberal, progressive, and cosmopolitan cities. Lahore has a rich history dating back over a millennium, and was once a center of the Mughal Empire, renowned for its architectural monuments, gardens, and mosques.

The history of Lahore is a tale of various invasions, rulers, and empires. It is believed that Lahore was founded by Loh, the son of Rama, the hero of the Hindu epic, the Ramayana. The city has been conquered and ruled by several empires including the Ghaznavids, Ghurids, Delhi Sultanate, Mughal Empire, Sikh Empire, and eventually the British Empire.
During the Mughal era, Lahore reached its zenith and became known for its impressive architecture, including the Lahore Fort and Shalimar Gardens, both of which are now UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The city was also a major center of education, literature, and Sufism.

Lahore is located near the eastern border of Pakistan, close to the Indian border. The Ravi River flows on the northern side of Lahore. The city's geography is characterized by the fertile alluvial plains between the river and the city which are used for agricultural purposes.

Lahore is often referred to as the cultural heart of Pakistan. It hosts most of the country's arts festivals, film-making, music, gardening clubs, and the fashion industry.
