- Lakewood, Illinois is a village located in McHenry County, in the U.S. state of Illinois. The village is a northern suburb of Chicago and is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Lakewood is known for its lush landscapes, serene lakes, and a variety of recreational activities.

- Lakewood is located at 42°13′20″N 88°20′51″W. According to the 2010 census, Lakewood has a total area of 4.625 square miles, of which 4.57 square miles (or 98.81%) is land and 0.055 square miles (or 1.19%) is water.

- As of the census of 2010, there were 3,811 people, 1,457 households, and 1,216 families residing in the village. The population density was 833.7 people per square mile.
