Lauge-Hansen classification is a system used in radiology and orthopedics to classify ankle fractures based on the mechanism of injury. It was developed by Danish physician Niels Lauge-Hansen in 1950.   4. Pronation-Abduction (PA): Involves a transverse fracture of the medial malleolus and abduction force causing injury to the lateral or posterior malleolus.

Each type is further divided into stages, reflecting the severity and progression of the injury.
