History[edit | edit source]

Lavendelstræde was laid out in the late 17th century, following the great fire of Copenhagen in 1728. The street was named after the lavender plants that were once grown in the area. Over the years, Lavendelstræde has been home to a variety of businesses and institutions, including a number of pharmacies and medical practices.

Architecture[edit | edit source]

The architecture of Lavendelstræde is characterized by its well-preserved 18th-century buildings. Notable structures include the Lavendelstræde 17, a Rococo-style building from 1750, and the Lavendelstræde 15, a Neoclassical building from 1797. Both buildings are listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places.

Today[edit | edit source]
