Lee Ryan (born 17 June 1983) is a British singer, songwriter, and actor. He is best known as a member of the boy band Blue.
Early life[edit | edit source]
Lee Ryan was born in Chatham, Kent, England. He attended Bedales School and later the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London.
Career[edit | edit source]
Blue[edit | edit source]
In 2000, Lee Ryan became a member of the boy band Blue, alongside Duncan James, Antony Costa, and Simon Webbe. The group achieved significant success in the early 2000s with hits such as "All Rise," "One Love," and "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word." Blue released several albums and enjoyed international success before disbanding in 2005. They later reunited in 2009 and have continued to perform and release new music.
Solo career[edit | edit source]
After Blue's initial split, Lee Ryan pursued a solo career. He released his debut solo album, Lee Ryan, in 2005, which included the singles "Army of Lovers" and "Turn Your Car Around." Despite moderate success, his solo career did not reach the heights of his work with Blue.
Acting career[edit | edit source]
Lee Ryan has also ventured into acting. He appeared in the BBC soap opera EastEnders in 2017, playing the character Woody Woodward. He has also participated in various reality TV shows, including Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Big Brother.
Personal life[edit | edit source]
Lee Ryan has been open about his struggles with mental health and has spoken publicly about his diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). He has two children.
