Composition[edit | edit source]
Lianhua Qingwen is composed of 13 traditional Chinese medicines, including Forsythia suspensa, Lonicera japonica, Ephedra sinica, Isatis tinctoria, Dryopteris crassirhizoma, Houttuynia cordata, Pogostemon cablin, Rheum palmatum, Rhodiola rosea, Mentha haplocalyx, Glycyrrhiza uralensis, Gypsum fibrosum, and Borneol.

The mechanism of action of Lianhua Qingwen is complex due to its multi-component nature. It is believed to exert its effects through multiple pathways, including anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, and immune regulatory effects. It can inhibit the replication of the virus, reduce the release of inflammatory factors, and enhance the body's immune response.

Lianhua Qingwen has been widely used in the treatment of influenza and COVID-19 in China. Clinical studies have shown that it can significantly improve the symptoms of fever, cough, and fatigue, and shorten the course of the disease. It is usually used in combination with other treatments under the guidance of a doctor.
Safety and Side Effects[edit | edit source]
Lianhua Qingwen is generally safe and well-tolerated. The most common side effects include gastrointestinal discomfort, dizziness, and rash. It is contraindicated in patients with severe liver or kidney disease, and in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
