Like Cola
Like Cola is a carbonated beverage that was produced by the Seven-Up company in the United States during the 1980s. It was marketed as a competitor to Coca-Cola and Pepsi, two of the most popular cola brands in the world. Despite its initial popularity, Like Cola was eventually discontinued due to declining sales.
History[edit | edit source]
Like Cola was introduced in 1982 as part of the Seven-Up company's attempt to break into the cola market. The company had previously focused on non-cola carbonated beverages, such as its flagship product, 7 Up. Like Cola was marketed as a "smoother" alternative to other colas, with a less acidic taste.
Despite a strong marketing campaign, Like Cola was unable to gain a significant market share. By the late 1980s, sales had declined to the point where the product was no longer profitable, and it was discontinued.
Product Description[edit | edit source]
Like Cola was a dark, sweet, carbonated beverage, similar in appearance and taste to other colas. It was sold in cans and bottles, and was available in both regular and diet versions. The packaging featured a distinctive red and white design, with the Like Cola logo prominently displayed.
Legacy[edit | edit source]
Although Like Cola is no longer produced, it is remembered by many for its unique taste and its role in the cola wars of the 1980s. It is often cited as an example of a product that, despite a strong marketing campaign, was unable to compete with established brands.
