List of cafeterias
Cafeterias are a type of food service location in which there is little or no table service. Instead, the patron chooses the items they wish to eat from a food line. This list includes notable cafeterias, both current and defunct.
Current Cafeterias[edit | edit source]
- Luby's - A chain of cafeterias in the United States that offers a variety of home-style foods. Founded in 1947 in San Antonio, Texas, it has since expanded to multiple locations across the country.
- Piccadilly Cafeteria - A chain of cafeteria-style restaurants in seven southeastern states of the United States. It was founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1932.
- Morrison's Cafeteria - A cafeteria chain with locations in the southern United States. It was founded in 1920 in Mobile, Alabama.
- Sizzler - An American restaurant chain known for steak, seafood, and salad bar items. It was founded in 1958 in Culver City, California.
Defunct Cafeterias[edit | edit source]
- Bishop's Buffet - A chain of buffet-style restaurants that operated in the Midwestern United States from 1920 to 2006.
- Clifton's Cafeteria - A cafeteria located in downtown Los Angeles, California. It was the oldest surviving cafeteria style eatery in Los Angeles and was noted for its kitschy decor. It closed in 2018.
- Wyatt's Cafeteria - A chain of cafeterias in the United States that was founded in 1946 and went bankrupt in 1996.
