Low residue diet

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

A low residue diet is a type of diet that limits the amount of indigestible material (fiber, skin, seeds, and pulp) in the diet. This type of diet is often recommended for people with certain gastrointestinal conditions, such as inflammatory bowel disease or diverticulitis, as it can help to reduce symptoms such as abdominal pain and diarrhea. The diet typically includes foods that are easy to digest, such as cooked fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, and processed grains.
