Luigi Sala
Luigi Sala (born 21 February 1974) is a retired Italian footballer who played as a defender. He is known for his time in Serie A and Serie B clubs, contributing significantly to the teams he played for during his career.

Luigi Sala was born in Mariano Comense, a town in the province of Como, Lombardy, Italy. He began his football career at a young age, showing promise as a strong and reliable defender.

Cesena[edit | edit source]
Sala started his professional career with Cesena in Serie B. His performances caught the attention of bigger clubs, leading to his transfer to Atalanta.
Atalanta[edit | edit source]
In 1995, Sala joined Atalanta, where he played for two seasons. His solid defensive skills helped the team in their campaigns in Serie A and Serie B.
Milan[edit | edit source]
Sala's impressive performances earned him a move to Milan in 1998. During his time at Milan, he won the Serie A title in the 1998-1999 season. However, he struggled to secure a regular starting position in a squad filled with star players.
Other Clubs[edit | edit source]
After leaving Milan, Sala played for several other clubs, including Sampdoria, Chievo, Ascoli, and Catania. He concluded his professional career with Mantova in 2011.

Although Sala never earned a cap for the senior Italian national team, he was called up to the squad on several occasions, reflecting his high level of play and consistency at the club level.
