  • Lumpkin County is a county located in the north central portion of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 29,966. Its county seat is Dahlonega. The county was created on December 3, 1832.

  • Lumpkin County is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains portion of the Appalachian Mountains chain. The county seat, Dahlonega, is located at the south end of the county, and is the site of the first major gold rush in the United States.
