MTV is a pay television channel in Australia and New Zealand that is operated by Paramount Global. The channel was launched on March 20, 1987, and primarily broadcasts music videos, reality television, and other entertainment programming.

MTV was first launched in Australia on March 20, 1987, as a joint venture between Nine Network and Viacom. The channel initially focused on music videos and music-related programming. In 1997, MTV Australia became a fully owned subsidiary of Viacom, and the channel's programming began to diversify to include reality shows, comedy, and other entertainment content.
In 2006, MTV New Zealand was launched, providing localized content for New Zealand viewers. However, in 2010, the New Zealand channel was merged with the Australian feed, creating a single channel for both countries.
