Manan Trivedi (born May 22, 1974) is an American physician, politician, and former United States Navy officer. He was the Democratic nominee for U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania's 6th congressional district in the 2010, 2012, and 2014 elections.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Trivedi was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, to Indian immigrant parents. He attended Fleetwood Area High School and later graduated from Boston University with a degree in biology. He earned his M.D. from the Boston University School of Medicine and a Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.

Military Service[edit | edit source]

Trivedi served as a physician in the United States Navy. He was deployed to Iraq as a battalion surgeon with the Marine Corps during the Iraq War. For his service, he was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon and the Navy Commendation Medal.

Medical Career[edit | edit source]

After his military service, Trivedi worked as a primary care physician and held various positions in the medical field. He has been involved in health policy and has served on several health-related boards and committees.

Political Career[edit | edit source]

Trivedi first ran for Congress in 2010, challenging incumbent Republican Jim Gerlach in Pennsylvania's 6th congressional district. He ran again in 2012 and 2014 but was unsuccessful in all three attempts. Despite his losses, Trivedi remains active in politics and continues to advocate for healthcare reform and veterans' issues.

Trivedi resides in Berks County, Pennsylvania, with his wife and children. He is an active member of his community and participates in various local organizations.
