Manhasset is a hamlet located in Nassau County, New York, United States. It is situated on the North Shore of Long Island, approximately 20 miles (32 km) east of Manhattan. Manhasset is known for its picturesque landscapes, affluent neighborhoods, and excellent schools.

Manhasset was first settled in 1680 by English colonists. The area was originally inhabited by the Matinecock Native American tribe. The name "Manhasset" is derived from the Matinecock word "Manhansett," meaning "island neighborhood." The hamlet grew steadily over the years, attracting wealthy residents who built grand estates and mansions.
In 1927, Manhasset was incorporated as a village, and in 1931, it was also incorporated as a hamlet. These incorporations allowed the community to establish its own local government and services.

. It covers a total area of 10.4 square kilometers, all of which is land. The hamlet is bordered by the Long Island Sound to the north, Great Neck to the east, and North Hills to the west.

As of the 2010 census, Manhasset had a population of 8,080 people. The hamlet has a diverse population, with a mix of different ethnicities and cultures. The median household income in Manhasset is significantly higher than the national average, making it one of the wealthiest communities in the United States.
