Manipura, also known as the solar plexus or navel chakra, is the third primary chakra according to Hindu tradition. Located in the area of the solar plexus, navel, and the digestive system, it is symbolically represented by a lotus with ten petals and is associated with the color yellow. Manipura is considered the center of dynamism, energy, willpower, and achievement, which radiates prana throughout the entire human body. It is associated with the fire element, symbolizing transformation and digestion, not only of food but also of life experiences.

The word Manipura is derived from two Sanskrit words: mani meaning 'jewel', and pura meaning 'city', thus translating to "City of Jewels". The fire element associated with Manipura emphasizes its role in digestion and transformation.

Physiologically, Manipura influences the digestive system, including the stomach, liver, pancreas, and small intestine. An imbalance in this chakra can lead to digestive problems, lack of energy, and emotional issues such as low self-esteem or excessive control and authority over others.
