Mara Elizabeth Wilson (born July 24, 1997) is an American actress and writer. She is best known for her roles as a child actress in the films Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), Miracle on 34th Street (1994), and Matilda (1996).

Mara Wilson was born in Burbank, California, to Mike Wilson, a television engineer, and Suzy Wilson, a homemaker. She has three older brothers, Danny, Jon, and Joel, and a younger sister, Anna.

Acting[edit | edit source]
Wilson began her acting career at the age of six, appearing in television commercials. Her breakthrough role came in 1993 when she was cast as Natalie Hillard in the comedy film Mrs. Doubtfire, starring Robin Williams. She gained further recognition for her role as Susan Walker in the 1994 remake of Miracle on 34th Street.
In 1996, Wilson starred as the title character in the film adaptation of Roald Dahl's Matilda. Her performance was widely praised, and the film has since become a cult classic.

After stepping away from acting, Wilson pursued a career in writing. She has written articles for various publications and released a memoir titled Where Am I Now?: True Stories of Girlhood and Accidental Fame in 2016. The book details her experiences as a child actress and her life after leaving Hollywood.
