Maria II of Portugal (4 April 1819 – 15 November 1853) was the Queen of Portugal from 1826 to 1828 and again from 1834 until her death. She was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the daughter of Pedro IV of Portugal and Maria Leopoldina of Austria.

Maria II's reign was marked by political turmoil, including the Liberal Wars, which ultimately led to her being deposed in 1828. However, she was restored to the throne in 1834 and ruled until her death in Lisbon, Portugal.

During her reign, Maria II married Auguste de Beauharnais, 2nd Duke of Leuchtenberg and had three children: Pedro V, Luís I, and Maria Ana.

Maria II's legacy as a monarch is remembered for her efforts to stabilize Portugal during a period of political unrest and for her contributions to the country's cultural and social development.
