- Marshall County is a county located in the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of the 2010 census, the population was 30,617. Its county seat is Lewisburg. Marshall County is part of the Nashville-Davidson–Murfreesboro–Franklin, TN Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Geography[edit | edit source]
- Marshall County is located in the central part of Tennessee, with an area of 376 square miles. It is bordered by Maury County to the east, Lincoln County to the south, Giles County to the west, and Rutherford and Williamson counties to the north.
History[edit | edit source]
- Marshall County was established by an act of the Tennessee General Assembly in 1836. It was named in honor of John Marshall, the fourth Chief Justice of the United States.
