Marvel Comics 2 (often abbreviated as MC2) is an imprint of American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The imprint was launched in 1998 and is set in an alternate future of the Marvel Universe, designated as Earth-982. The MC2 universe is notable for featuring the next generation of superheroes, many of whom are the children or successors of established Marvel characters.

History[edit | edit source]

The MC2 imprint was created by writer Tom DeFalco and artist Ron Frenz. The concept was to explore a future where the heroes of the Marvel Universe had aged and their children had taken up their mantles. The imprint was launched with the title Spider-Girl, which follows the adventures of May "Mayday" Parker, the daughter of Peter Parker (the original Spider-Man) and Mary Jane Watson.

Key Titles[edit | edit source]

  • Spider-Girl: The flagship title of the MC2 imprint, Spider-Girl focuses on May "Mayday" Parker as she navigates her teenage years while also taking on the responsibilities of being a superhero.
  • A-Next: This series features a new team of Avengers led by Thunderstrike, the son of the original Thunderstrike.
  • J2: The story of Zane Yama, the son of Juggernaut, who inherits his father's powers and becomes a superhero.
