- McChord AFB is a United States Air Force base located in the state of Washington. It is situated in Pierce County, approximately 9.1 miles south-southwest of Tacoma. The base was merged with the U.S. Army's Fort Lewis to become part of the Joint Base Lewis-McChord complex in 2010.
