Middlesex County is a county located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 10,625. The county seat is Saluda.

Middlesex County was established in 1669 from a part of Lancaster County. The county was named after the historic county of Middlesex in England. The area has a rich history, including significant events during the American Revolutionary War and the American Civil War.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Middlesex County is situated on the Middle Peninsula, bordered by the Rappahannock River to the north and the Chesapeake Bay to the east. The county has a total area of 211 square miles, of which 130 square miles is land and 81 square miles is water.
