Mooresville is a town located in Iredell County, North Carolina, United States. It is known as Race City USA and is famous for its association with motorsports. The town is situated approximately 25 miles north of Charlotte and has a population of 39,132 as of 2020.

Mooresville was founded in 1856 by John Franklin Moore, who also served as the town's first mayor. The town was officially incorporated in 1873. It was named after its founder, John Franklin Moore. Over the years, Mooresville has grown rapidly, attracting residents and businesses due to its proximity to Charlotte and its thriving motorsports industry.

The racial makeup of the town was 77.5% White, 13.6% African American, 0.4% Native American, 2.2% Asian, and 6.3% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 12.1% of the population.

Mooresville's economy is primarily driven by the motorsports industry. The town is home to many NASCAR teams, including Team Penske and Joe Gibbs Racing. Mooresville is also known for its automotive research and development facilities.
