mothers2mothers (m2m) is an international non-profit organization dedicated to preventing mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) of HIV and supporting the health and well-being of mothers and their families. Founded in 2001, m2m operates in multiple countries across sub-Saharan Africa, providing education, support, and medical services to HIV-positive mothers.

mothers2mothers was founded in 2001 by Dr. Mitch Besser, an obstetrician and gynecologist, in Cape Town, South Africa. The organization was established in response to the high rates of mother-to-child transmission of HIV in the region. Dr. Besser recognized the need for peer support and education to help HIV-positive mothers manage their health and prevent transmission to their children.

The mission of mothers2mothers is to eliminate pediatric AIDS and create healthy families and communities. The organization aims to achieve this by:
