MusaNet is a global network of banana researchers and scientists coordinated by Bioversity International. The network aims to strengthen the conservation and use of banana genetic resources worldwide.

MusaNet was established in 2011 by Bioversity International, a global research-for-development organization. The network was created to address the need for a coordinated global approach to banana genetic resource conservation and use.

Objectives[edit | edit source]

The main objectives of MusaNet are to:

  • Improve the conservation of banana genetic resources
  • Enhance the use of these resources in plant breeding and genetic research
  • Facilitate access to and exchange of information, knowledge and materials related to bananas

MusaNet is composed of several thematic groups, each focusing on a specific area of banana research. These include:
