Museum Kimchikan, also known as the Kimchi Museum, is a museum located in Seoul, South Korea. It is dedicated to Kimchi, a traditional Korean side dish made from salted and fermented vegetables, most commonly napa cabbage and Korean radishes, with a variety of seasonings.
History[edit | edit source]
The museum was established in 1986 by the Pulmuone Company. It was originally located in Pil-dong, Jung-gu, and was moved to its current location in Insa-dong, Jongno-gu, in 2015. The museum was renamed as Museum Kimchikan in 2015.
Exhibitions[edit | edit source]
The museum features a variety of exhibitions that showcase the history, types, and importance of kimchi in Korean culture. The exhibitions include the history of kimchi, the different types of kimchi, and the process of making kimchi. There is also an exhibition on the health benefits of kimchi, as well as a tasting room where visitors can sample different types of kimchi.

In addition to the exhibitions, Museum Kimchikan also offers a variety of activities for visitors. These include kimchi-making classes, where visitors can learn how to make their own kimchi, and kimchi-tasting sessions, where visitors can sample a variety of different types of kimchi.
Recognition[edit | edit source]
Museum Kimchikan has received recognition for its efforts to promote and preserve the culture of kimchi. In 2015, it was listed in the CNN's list of the world's best food museums.
