The first Big Apple Bagels store was opened in 1993 in Deerfield, Illinois. The company was founded by Paul Stolzer, who had a vision of creating a casual, friendly bakery cafe that served fresh, made-from-scratch bagels. The concept quickly gained popularity, and the company began franchising in 1995. Today, there are over 80 Big Apple Bagels locations across the United States.
