José Ignacio Fernández Iglesias (born 18 January 1990), commonly known as Nacho, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a defender for La Liga club Real Madrid and the Spain national team. He is known for his versatility, being able to play as a central defender, right-back, or left-back.

Real Madrid[edit | edit source]
Nacho joined the Real Madrid youth academy, La Fábrica, in 2001 at the age of 11. He progressed through the ranks and made his senior debut with Real Madrid Castilla in 2009. He made his first-team debut for Real Madrid on 23 April 2011 in a La Liga match against Valencia CF, which ended in a 6-3 victory for Real Madrid.
Since then, Nacho has been a reliable squad player for Real Madrid, contributing to the team's success in both domestic and international competitions. He has won multiple UEFA Champions League titles, La Liga titles, and other domestic trophies with the club.

Nacho has represented Spain at various youth levels, including the U17, U19, and U21 teams. He made his senior debut for the Spain national team on 10 September 2013 in a friendly match against Chile.
He was part of the Spanish squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, where he scored a memorable goal in the group stage match against Portugal.
