National University of Córdoba (UNC) is a major public university located in Córdoba, Argentina. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Argentina and Latin America. Established on June 29, 1613, by the Jesuit Order, it is the fourth oldest university in the Americas. The university plays a significant role in the academic, scientific, and cultural development of the region.

The foundation of the National University of Córdoba was a part of the Jesuit's mission to promote education around the world. Its creation was authorized by the Spanish Crown, making it an essential institution for the Spanish colonial empire in educating its colonial elite. After the expulsion of the Jesuits in 1767, the administration of the university passed to the Franciscan Order until the early 19th century when it became secular.

The main campus of the UNC is located in the city of Córdoba, with several faculties dispersed throughout the city. The historic campus, known as the Manzana Jesuítica (Jesuit Block), has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
