Nayanthara
Nayanthara (born Diana Mariam Kurian; 18 November 1984) is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films. She is one of the most successful and highest-paid actresses in South Indian cinema and has received numerous accolades, including several Filmfare Awards.
Early Life[edit | edit source]
Nayanthara was born on 18 November 1984 in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. She was born to Kurian Kodiyattu and Omana Kurian, who are of Malayali descent. She completed her schooling in various parts of India, owing to her father's occupation in the Indian Air Force. She pursued her bachelor's degree in English Literature from Marthoma College, Thiruvalla.
Career[edit | edit source]
Nayanthara made her acting debut in the 2003 Malayalam film Manassinakkare, directed by Sathyan Anthikad. Her performance was well-received, and she quickly gained popularity in the Malayalam film industry. She then appeared in several successful Malayalam films, including Vismayathumbathu (2004) and Natturajavu (2004).
In 2005, Nayanthara made her debut in Tamil cinema with the film Ayya. She followed this with a critically acclaimed performance in Chandramukhi (2005), which became one of the longest-running Tamil films. Her success in Tamil cinema continued with notable films such as Ghajini (2005), Billa (2007), and Yaaradi Nee Mohini (2008).
Nayanthara's Telugu film debut came with Lakshmi (2006), and she went on to star in several successful Telugu films, including Tulasi (2007) and Adhurs (2010).

Nayanthara was in a relationship with director Prabhu Deva, which ended in 2012. She later began dating filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, and the couple got engaged in 2021.
