Neot Smadar
Neot Smadar is a kibbutz located in the southern part of Israel, approximately 60 kilometers north of Eilat. It was established in 1989 by a group of individuals seeking a unique, self-sustaining way of life. The kibbutz is known for its organic farming, arts and crafts, and the Arts Center which is a significant architectural landmark in the area.

The kibbutz was founded by a group of friends who had been living together since 1974. They initially lived in Jerusalem and later moved to the Arava desert in 1983. The name "Neot Smadar" was chosen to honor Smadar Aloni, a member of the group who died in a car accident.

The economy of Neot Smadar is based on organic farming, arts and crafts, and tourism. The kibbutz operates a winery, a dairy, and an olive press. It also produces organic fruits and vegetables, cheese, and olive oil. The arts and crafts include ceramics, stained glass, and jewelry. The kibbutz also runs a roadside restaurant and shop, which sells products made in the kibbutz.
