Neukölln is one of the twelve boroughs (Bezirke) of Berlin, the capital city of Germany. It is located in the southeastern part of the city and is known for its diverse population, vibrant nightlife, and rich cultural scene.

Neukölln was originally a part of the historic Teltow region, and was first mentioned in documents in 1360 under the name of Richardsdorf. It became a part of Berlin in 1920 during the Greater Berlin Act. The borough has undergone significant changes throughout its history, particularly in the 20th and 21st centuries, with waves of immigration contributing to its multicultural character.

Neukölln is bordered by the boroughs of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Tempelhof-Schöneberg, and Treptow-Köpenick. It also shares a border with the state of Brandenburg. The borough is divided into five localities: Britz, Buckow, Rudow, Gropiusstadt, and the locality of Neukölln.
