- North Great River is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) located in the Town of Islip in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The community is served by the Islip School District.
Geography[edit | edit source]
- North Great River is located at 40°45′13″N 73°9′45″W (40.753669, -73.162456). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.7 square miles (7.0 km2), all land.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
- As of the census of 2000, there were 4,806 people, 1,322 households, and 1,154 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,766.6 per square mile (681.6/km2). There were 1,332 housing units at an average density of 489.6/sq mi (188.9/km2).
