Northern Virginia (colloquially referred to as NOVA) is a region in the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States. It is part of the larger Washington metropolitan area and is known for its significant population, economic influence, and cultural diversity.

Northern Virginia encompasses several counties and independent cities, including Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William, and the independent cities of Alexandria, Falls Church, Fairfax, and Manassas.
