Okfuskee County is a county located in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. As of the 2010 census, the population was 12,191. Its county seat is Okemah. The county is named for a former Muscogee town in present Cleburne County, Alabama, that in turn was named for the Okfuskee, a Muscogee tribe.
Geography[edit | edit source]
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 629 square miles (1,630 km2), of which 619 square miles (1,600 km2) is land and 10 square miles (26 km2) (1.6%) is water.

Transportation in Okfuskee County is facilitated by several major highways, including Interstate 40, U.S. Highway 62, and Oklahoma State Highway 56. The county is also served by the Okemah Municipal Airport.
