Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU), established in 1967, is a prominent private university in the Philippines known for its comprehensive health sciences programs. It was originally founded as the Our Lady of Fatima Hospital College of Nursing, aiming to provide quality nursing education to young individuals aspiring to become medical professionals. Over the years, OLFU has expanded its academic offerings to include a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across various fields, including medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, physical therapy, and marine transportation, among others.

History

The university began as a small nursing school associated with the Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. Its founders, Dr. Vicente M. Santos Sr. and his wife, sought to establish an institution that would offer excellent healthcare education in the region. The school quickly gained recognition for its high-quality nursing program and expanded its curriculum to include other health-related courses. In 1979, it was granted university status and subsequently changed its name to Our Lady of Fatima University.
