Overland Park is a city located in Johnson County, Kansas, United States. It is the second most populous city in Kansas, with a population of 195,494 as of 2020. Overland Park is a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri and is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Overland Park was founded in 1905 by William B. Strang Jr. as a planned community along the Kansas City, Mexico and Orient Railway. The city was named after the Overland Stagecoach, which used to pass through the area during the 19th century. Overland Park experienced rapid growth in the 1960s and 1970s, becoming one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States.

. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 75.37 square miles (195.15 km2), of which 74.84 square miles (193.89 km2) is land and 0.53 square miles (1.37 km2) is water.

Overland Park has a diverse economy with a mix of industries including healthcare, finance, technology, and telecommunications. The city is home to several major corporations, including Sprint Corporation, Black & Veatch, and YRC Worldwide. Overland Park is also known for its retail sector, with numerous shopping centers and malls located throughout the city.

Overland Park is served by the Blue Valley School District, one of the top-rated school districts in the state of Kansas. The district operates several elementary, middle, and high schools in the city. Overland Park is also home to several private schools and higher education institutions, including Johnson County Community College.
