Ozenx-Montestrucq
Ozenx-Montestrucq is a commune located in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of southwestern France. It is part of the Arrondissement of Pau and the Canton of Artix et Pays de Soubestre.

Ozenx-Montestrucq is situated in the Béarn region of France, approximately 20 kilometers north of Pau. The commune is bordered by the Gave de Pau river to the east and is surrounded by the communes of Argagnon, Lacq, and Casteide-Candau.
History[edit | edit source]
The history of Ozenx-Montestrucq dates back to the Middle Ages, with the first written record of the commune appearing in the 13th century. The commune was originally two separate entities, Ozenx and Montestrucq, which were merged in 1841.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
As of the latest census, the population of Ozenx-Montestrucq is approximately 200 residents. The commune has a relatively low population density, with less than 30 inhabitants per square kilometer.

The economy of Ozenx-Montestrucq is primarily based on agriculture, with a focus on the cultivation of maize and the raising of livestock. The commune is also known for its production of Béarn AOC wines.

Ozenx-Montestrucq is home to several notable sites of interest, including the Church of Saint John the Baptist, a Romanesque church dating back to the 12th century, and the Château de Montestrucq, a historic castle.
