- Palmyra, MO is a city located in Marion County, in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Missouri. It is the county seat of Marion County and is part of the Hannibal, MO Micropolitan Statistical Area. The city is named after the ancient city of Palmyra, located in present-day Syria.

- Palmyra was laid out in 1819 and named after the ancient city of Palmyra in Syria. The city was incorporated in 1839 and has a rich history that includes being a key location during the American Civil War.

- Palmyra is located at 39°47′25″N 91°31′42″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.13 square miles, all land.
