Parkia timoriana
Parkia timoriana is a species of flowering plant in the family Fabaceae. It is commonly known as the Tree Bean and is native to Southeast Asia. The plant is known for its economic and medicinal value.

Parkia timoriana is a tall, evergreen tree that can reach up to 30 meters in height. The leaves are pinnate, with 20-40 leaflets. The flowers are small, yellow, and fragrant, arranged in a large, pendulous inflorescence. The fruit is a long, flat pod containing several seeds.
Distribution and Habitat[edit | edit source]
Parkia timoriana is native to Southeast Asia, including countries such as Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam. It grows in a variety of habitats, from lowland forests to mountainous regions.
Uses[edit | edit source]
The seeds of Parkia timoriana are edible and are often used in local cuisines. The tree is also used for timber and as a shade tree. In traditional medicine, various parts of the plant are used to treat ailments such as fever, cough, and skin diseases.
Conservation[edit | edit source]
While Parkia timoriana is not currently listed as threatened, habitat loss due to deforestation is a concern. Efforts are being made to conserve the species through seed banking and habitat protection.
