Patience Jonathan (born 25 October 1957) is a Nigerian public figure who served as the First Lady of Nigeria from 2010 to 2015. She is the wife of Goodluck Jonathan, the former President of Nigeria.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Patience Faka was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. She attended the University of Port Harcourt, where she obtained a degree in Biology and Psychology.

Before becoming the First Lady, Patience Jonathan worked in various capacities in the public sector. She was a teacher and later worked at the Bayelsa State Ministry of Education. She also served as a permanent secretary in Bayelsa State.
First Lady of Nigeria[edit | edit source]
Patience Jonathan became the First Lady of Nigeria when her husband, Goodluck Jonathan, assumed the presidency on 29 May 2010. During her tenure, she was known for her philanthropic activities and advocacy for women's rights. She founded the Aruera Reachout Foundation, which focuses on supporting women and children in Nigeria.
