Rivers State is one of the 36 states of Nigeria. It is located in the southern part of the country and is part of the Niger Delta region. The state was created on 27 May 1967 and its capital is Port Harcourt. Rivers State is known for its vast reserves of crude oil and natural gas, making it a significant contributor to Nigeria's economy.
