Paul Sinha
Paul Sinha (born 28 May 1970) is a British comedian, quiz player, and television presenter. He is best known as one of the "Chasers" on the ITV game show The Chase, where he is nicknamed "The Sinnerman". Sinha is also a qualified general practitioner.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Paul Sinha was born in Luton, Bedfordshire, England, to Indian parents. He attended Dulwich College and later studied medicine at St George's, University of London. During his time at university, Sinha developed an interest in stand-up comedy and began performing at various student events.
Medical Career[edit | edit source]
After qualifying as a general practitioner, Sinha worked in various medical practices. However, he eventually decided to pursue a career in comedy full-time. Despite this, he has maintained his medical registration and occasionally discusses medical topics in his comedy routines.
Comedy Career[edit | edit source]
Sinha's comedy career began in earnest in the early 2000s. He has performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and has been nominated for the prestigious Perrier Comedy Award. His comedy often touches on themes of ethnicity, sexuality, and his experiences as a doctor.
The Chase[edit | edit source]
In 2011, Sinha joined the cast of The Chase as one of the Chasers. He quickly became known for his sharp wit and extensive general knowledge. His nickname on the show, "The Sinnerman," is a play on his surname.
Personal Life[edit | edit source]
Paul Sinha is openly gay and has spoken publicly about his experiences coming out to his family and friends. He is also an avid quizzer and has competed in various quiz competitions, including the World Quizzing Championships.

In 2019, Sinha revealed that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He has since been open about his condition and continues to work in comedy and television.
