Penn Wynne, Pennsylvania

Penn Wynne, Pennsylvania is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is part of Lower Merion Township and is situated on the Main Line, a series of affluent Philadelphia suburbs.

Geography[edit | edit source]

Penn Wynne is located at 39°59′34″N 75°16′12″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 0.8 square miles (2.1 km²), all of it land.

Demographics[edit | edit source]

As of the census of 2000, there were 5,697 people, 2,178 households, and 1,650 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 7,217.0 people per square mile (2,786.6/km²). There were 2,209 housing units at an average density of 2,798.6/sq mi (1,080.2/km²).

Education[edit | edit source]

Penn Wynne is served by the Lower Merion School District. Penn Wynne Elementary School, one of the district's six elementary schools, is located in Penn Wynne.

Notable people[edit | edit source]

Several notable individuals hail from Penn Wynne, including Kobe Bryant, a professional basketball player who played for the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA.
