Perceptual psychology

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

Perceptual psychology - Perceptual psychology is a branch of psychology that studies how people perceive and interpret sensory information. Researchers in perceptual psychology investigate how the brain processes information from the five senses to form perceptions of the world around us. This includes studying how we see, hear, taste, smell, and touch, and how these senses interact with each other. The field also investigates how individual differences, such as age, gender, and culture, affect perception.
