Personal estate

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

Sometimes used synonymously with personal property, personal estate means any tangible property of the decedent that does not fall into the category of real estate.

Items included[edit | edit source]

  • It includes furniture, household furnishings, motor vehicles, clothing, luggage, and other effects of a tangible, movable nature.
  • It also includes convertible assets, non-negotiable instruments, and the like.

For purposes of the US gov. regulations, however, a personal estate does not include bank deposits.
