Peruvian refers to anything related to the country of Peru, including its people, culture, geography, and history. Peru is a country located in South America, known for its rich history, diverse landscapes, and vibrant culture.

Peru is located on the western coast of South America, bordered by Ecuador and Colombia to the north, Brazil and Bolivia to the east, and Chile to the south. The Pacific Ocean lies to the west. The country's diverse geography includes the Andes Mountains, the Amazon Rainforest, and the Atacama Desert.

Peru's history is marked by the ancient Inca Empire, which was the largest empire in pre-Columbian America. The Spanish Conquistadors arrived in the 16th century, leading to the fall of the Inca Empire and the establishment of a Spanish Colony. Peru gained independence from Spain in 1821.

Culture[edit | edit source]

Peruvian culture is a blend of indigenous traditions and Spanish influences, with elements of African, Asian, and European cultures. This is reflected in the country's music, dance, literature, and particularly its cuisine, which is considered one of the world's most diverse.

The people of Peru, known as Peruvians, are a multiethnic mix of Amerindians, Europeans, Africans, and Asians. The official languages are Spanish, Quechua, and Aymara, but many other indigenous languages and dialects are also spoken.

Economy[edit | edit source]

Peru's economy is classified as upper middle income by the World Bank. It is one of the world's fastest-growing economies, with a large service sector, a growing mining and manufacturing sector, and significant agricultural production.
