Pete Burns (5 August 1959 – 23 October 2016) was an English singer, songwriter, and television personality. He rose to fame in the 1980s as the lead vocalist of the new wave band Dead or Alive. The band's hit song "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" became a global success, reaching number one on the UK Singles Chart and making significant impacts on international charts. Burns was known for his androgynous appearance, flamboyant style, and powerful voice, which made him an iconic figure in the music and fashion industries.

Early Life[edit | edit source]

Pete Burns was born in Bebington, Cheshire, England. He was of mixed heritage, with a German mother and an English father.
