Peter Pennoyer

Peter Pennoyer is an American architect known for his work in classical architecture. He is a principal of Peter Pennoyer Architects, a New York-based architecture firm, which he founded in 1990.

Early life and education[edit | edit source]

Pennoyer was born and raised in New York City. He attended Groton School, a private Episcopal college preparatory boarding school in Massachusetts. He later studied at Columbia University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Art History. He then earned a Master of Architecture from Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.

After graduating, Pennoyer worked for the architectural firm Robert A.M. Stern Architects, where he honed his skills in classical architecture. In 1990, he established his own firm, Peter Pennoyer Architects. The firm specializes in residential, institutional, and commercial projects, with a focus on classical and traditional architecture.

Pennoyer's work has been recognized for its commitment to traditional design and its innovative adaptation of classical concepts for modern needs. His projects have been featured in numerous publications, including Architectural Digest, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.
