Pizza Haven (United States)
Pizza Haven was a pizza restaurant chain and franchise operation based in the United States. Founded in 1958 in Seattle, Washington, Pizza Haven was one of the first pizza companies to make deliveries using a fleet of company-owned delivery vehicles.
History[edit | edit source]
Pizza Haven was founded by the four sons of Frank and Lena Rover, immigrants from Italy. The Rover brothers started the business with a small investment and a lot of hard work, turning it into one of the most successful pizza chains in the United States.
In the 1980s, Pizza Haven expanded into franchising, allowing entrepreneurs to open their own Pizza Haven locations. This led to a rapid expansion of the brand across the United States.
Menu[edit | edit source]
Pizza Haven's menu was known for its variety and quality. In addition to traditional pizza toppings, the chain offered unique options like artichoke hearts, smoked salmon, and goat cheese. They also offered a range of pasta dishes, salads, and desserts.
Closure[edit | edit source]
Despite its success, Pizza Haven faced increasing competition from larger pizza chains. In 1999, the company was sold to Yum! Brands, the parent company of Pizza Hut. Most Pizza Haven locations were converted into Pizza Hut restaurants.
Legacy[edit | edit source]
Although Pizza Haven is no longer in operation, it is remembered fondly by many for its quality food and innovative delivery service. The company's influence can still be seen in the pizza industry today, particularly in the use of company-owned delivery vehicles.
